Job overview

Regional Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in North Hollywood, CA. This is an onsite, full-time position with a salary range of $110,000 - $125,000 per year plus a $2,000 annual education stipend. Spectrum Center Schools and Programs provides special education services for students in Grades K-12 across Southern California.

What you'll do

  • Evaluating students to identify speech-language therapy needs and determine appropriate levels of service.
  • Developing and implementing individualized speech therapy plans.
  • Setting collaborative, student-centered goals.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing reports.
  • Providing direct speech and language therapy.
  • Documenting therapy sessions and maintaining case records.
  • Fostering communication with families.
  • Collaborating with teachers and related service providers.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Providing clinical support to onsite program teams.
  • Mentoring educators and staff.
  • Conducting and overseeing client intakes and assessments.
  • Overseeing quality and consistency of services.
  • Maintaining clinical excellence.
  • Collaborating with clients, caregivers, and families.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development.
  • Traveling between assigned Spectrum School locations.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as requested.

What we're looking for

Education
Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field of study.
Experience
Prior experience and/or knowledge in providing speech therapy instruction, guidance and/or support to children, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting. Well-versed in special education services and compliance, effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, and working with children with individualized education plans (IEP's). Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders and/or other related disabilities. Proven success in developing and implementing effective treatment plans for children with diverse needs at various levels. Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals. Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community and/or district partners. Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability. Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
