The Success Mentor — Brooklyn High Schools role is onsite at an assigned New York City public school site in New York, NY. Pay is $25–$27 per hour, commensurate with experience. Counseling in Schools works with schools and communities to support children’s emotional and social growth and success. Mentors help students and families address barriers to attendance and school success. The role includes welcoming students, engaging caregivers, coordinating support and referrals, tracking interventions, and working with school staff and counselors on attendance improvement.

What you'll do

• Greet students upon morning arrival
• engage caregivers and contact home when a mentee is absent
• support school attendance activities and events
• flag mentees for early intervention
• collaborate on attendance improvement plans
• identify barriers to attendance
• set goals and follow-up timelines
• coordinate supports and referrals
• maintain data and track interventions.
