The Experienced Journeyman Automotive Technician role is onsite in Chicago, IL, with compensation of $20.50–$47.50 per hour, based on experience, certifications, training, and productivity. The technician joins the McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago service team, part of a family-owned automotive organization serving Chicagoland. The technician diagnoses and repairs vehicles, completes inspections and repair documentation, and communicates recommendations to service advisors. The role supports efficient service operations through quality workmanship, collaboration, and mentoring of apprentice and entry-level technicians as needed.

What you'll do

• Diagnose, test, and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle issues
• perform advanced repairs involving engines, transmissions, drivability, suspension, steering, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems
• complete multi-point inspections
• communicate repair recommendations to service advisors
• follow manufacturer standards and safety procedures
• document work and repair orders
• maintain workmanship and productivity standards
• mentor and assist junior technicians as needed
• collaborate with service advisors and parts personnel
• stay current on Acura technology, training, and ASE certifications.
