Job overview

The Cook / Culinary Assistant role is onsite in Johnston, IA, with day shifts from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., including every other weekend. Compensation is $17–$19 per hour. The role supports Meadowview of Johnston’s residents, employees, and family members through its culinary department; Meadowview is a senior care campus with independent living, assisted living, and memory care. The cook prepares nutritious meals to recipes and quality standards, assists with serving, and responds to dietary needs. Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area helps the department provide reliable meal service to residents and guests.

What you'll do

• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and quality standards
• observe and report low stock or high-demand choices
• provide customer service to residents, staff, and families
• assist with food preparation and meal service
• maintain a clean and sanitary dietary department
• wash dishes and clean kitchen and dining rooms
• assist with dietary needs.
