Assistant Infant Teacher

The Assistant Infant Teacher role is an onsite, full-time position in Grand Rapids, MI, paying $16–$18 per hour. Big Steps Little Feet Christian Early Learning & Nature Preschool provides a safe, nurturing learning environment and partners with parents in children’s development. The assistant supports the lead teacher with attentive care, guided play, and learning activities that foster children’s development. The role helps maintain a safe classroom and communicates with families about children’s daily experiences and progress.

What you'll do

• Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
• supervise children during play, meals, naps, and outdoor activities
• observe behavior, provide comfort, and encourage positive interactions
• maintain a clean, organized, safe classroom
• communicate with parents and caregivers about progress and daily experiences
• prepare materials and learning centers
• participate in staff meetings and training and collaborate with colleagues.
