Surgery Assistant

What you'll do

• Greet patients and visitors
• assist personnel with pre-op and post-op tasks as directed by the surgeon, anesthesia provider, or nurse
• help connect patients to monitors and oxygen and move them into the surgery suite
• assist with operating room turnover and closure
• provide nourishment as directed by the RN
• help prepare surgical sites
• make pre- and post-operative patient calls as needed
• maintain supplies and cleanliness
• report malfunctioning equipment or instruments
• follow infection control guidelines.
