Engineering Manager – Electrical Design

The Engineering Manager – Electrical Design role is an onsite position in Charlotte, NC, with a stated salary range of $130,000–$150,000 per year. The role supports electrical design and virtual construction across large-scale commercial and industrial projects, including mission-critical, healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, multifamily, and hospitality work. The manager leads design teams and preconstruction coordination while ensuring electrical designs are high-quality and code-compliant. The role combines project oversight, technical review of electrical calculations and drawings, team development, cross-functional coordination, and practical design and value-engineering support.

What you'll do

• Manage multiple projects during preconstruction and oversee Design Engineers and Virtual Design staff
• coordinate timelines, work, and deliverables
• review and perform electrical calculations
• ensure designs meet the National Electrical Code and applicable building codes
• coach and develop design professionals
• coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
• review contracts, BIM execution plans, and specifications
• oversee coordination and installation drawings
• support power distribution, site systems, underground, and temporary power design
• identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.
