The representative works with YouthBuild participants and other youth job seekers on employment plans, work readiness, and placement. Employer outreach and relationship-building help connect participants with skilled trades, apprenticeships, and other opportunities in Detroit and Out-Wayne County.

What you'll do

• Coordinate employer events at Youth Centers
• promote services to local employers
• provide work-readiness orientation on workplace conduct, resumes, job searches, networking, and interviewing
• contact employers to recruit participation and explain services
• consult with chambers of commerce, colleges, apprenticeship programs, and employers about employment trends
• maintain employer and community relationships
• monitor job-bank information
• compile activity and outcome reports
• attend required meetings.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or five years of equivalent work experience in job placement or job-search services; a valid Michigan driver’s license and authorized driver status are required. Spanish and/or Arabic skills are preferred; flexible scheduling may include evenings and weekends as needed.
