Civil Designer II

The Civil Designer II role is a full-time, onsite position in Columbia, SC. Compensation is not specified. Thomas & Hutton is an employee-owned firm whose stated mission is “Building Relationships and Solutions for Success.” The designer takes on independent land-development design work, applying technical judgment and coordinating project tasks while building toward professional licensure. The role supports project delivery through plans, calculations, estimates, permits, client coordination, and schedule and budget tracking.

What you'll do

• Prepare design calculations, project plans, specifications, exhibits, reports, quantity and cost estimates, permit applications, and bid packages
• use CADD tools
• coordinate technicians’ work
• attend occasional client, agency, or contractor meetings
• communicate project status to the Project Manager
• and help maintain CADD standards. Onsite schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
• Friday, 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
