High School Math Teacher in Naples, NY. This is a full-time, onsite position with a salary range of $50,000 to $64,700 per year. Uncommon Schools is dedicated to providing an exceptional K-12 education in economically disadvantaged communities. This role exists to push high school students towards being self-guided learners. Teachers become experts in their course content and motivate students, using instructional strategies to cultivate awareness of how to make sense of, persevere through, and solve problems, preparing them for college.

What you'll do

• Teach content including Algebra, Geometry, or Calculus, preparing students for AP and collegiate coursework.
• Support students as they solve problems and think critically.
• Use passion for mathematics to foster confidence and engagement.
• Cultivate ability to construct and justify viable arguments.
• Build a community of self-guided learners.
• Work with the Math department on academic and engagement goals.
• Meet weekly with principal/coach to analyze student work and assessments.
• Differentiate instruction for all learners.
• Build positive relationships with students and partner with families.
• Engage in professional development, mentorship, and coaching.
• Participate in school-wide meetings.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience

1-2 years experience preferred.
