Job overview
The Street Outreach Mentor role is in person in Chicago, IL, serving the Little Village, Pilsen and Brighton Park neighborhoods. Communities Partnering 4 Peace works with community-based agencies to reduce community violence through restorative justice, trauma-informed approaches and nonviolence.
What you'll do
- Build relationships with high-risk participants and maintain a caseload of 10–15
- intervene in likely violence, mediate conflicts and facilitate support sessions
- connect participants with case management and community resources
- accompany clients to court and social services
- coordinate responses to shootings
- document services and incidents
- and support victims and families. Some weekends, on-call crisis response and local travel may be required.
