Part-Time Campus Security Officer

The Part-Time Campus Security Officer works onsite in Richmond, VA, for an average of 8–25 hours per week. Pay is $27–$30 per hour. St. Christopher’s School serves approximately 1,000 boys in grades JK–12 and emphasizes a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community. The role exists to help protect students, faculty, staff, and visitors during school hours and after-hours activities. Through visible campus presence, emergency leadership, security-system monitoring, and collaboration with school staff, the officer supports a safe environment and community trust.

What you'll do

• Maintain a vigilant, active presence across the 43-acre campus
• support security operations as directed by the Director of Security
• take a leadership role during emergencies and serve as primary liaison with local law enforcement and emergency responders
• monitor physical security measures, including access control, cameras, alarms, and emergency notification platforms
• help identify risks and strengthen campus safety
• collaborate with faculty and staff for classes, athletic events, and special programs
• support parking requirements
• maintain an approachable presence
• stay current with safety procedures and training.

Why this role
