Life Safety Systems Engineer

Job overview

The Life Safety Systems Engineer role is available at locations across the United States, with hybrid work between offices or project sites and remote locations. Compensation is $48–$88 per hour. The engineer works on data center facilities projects for clients around the world. The engineer contributes to the design and delivery of code-compliant fire protection and life safety systems. The role supports project completion through technical design leadership, construction administration, client coordination, and production of calculations, specifications, diagrams, and other design deliverables.

What you'll do

• Contribute to projects from preliminary assessments and concept development through design, problem resolution, drawings, specifications, and construction administration
• lead technical design of fire alarm, detection, smoke control, fire protection, and other life safety or low-voltage systems
• travel at least 25% to job sites for construction administration, punch walks, witness testing, and design support
• coordinate with clients and code officials
• prepare calculations, equipment schedules, specifications, network diagrams, and 2D and 3D deliverables.
