Senior Estimator — Commercial & Public Construction

Job overview

The Senior Estimator role is onsite in Reno, Nevada. The posting gives a target base salary of approximately $130,000–$160,000 or more, with flexibility for top candidates. The role supports an established Northern Nevada commercial general contractor’s preconstruction team. The estimator owns estimates from early concept through final pricing and project turnover. The work supports the contractor’s pursuit and delivery of commercial and public projects through budgeting, bid analysis, risk review, and coordination with project stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Lead estimates from conceptual and preconstruction stages through final bid and project turnover
• develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and final pricing
• estimate commercial and public projects
• support Construction Management and Design-Build delivery
• review drawings, specifications, and requirements across major building trades
• lead subcontractor solicitation, scope review, bid leveling, and pricing analysis
• identify risks, constructability concerns, and value-engineering opportunities
• coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal operations
• participate in preconstruction meetings, pursuits, and estimate presentations
• maintain budgets and pricing as projects progress through design
• ensure handoff from preconstruction to operations.
