The Senior Power Electronics Engineer role is onsite in Devens, MA. Compensation is $134,000–$205,000 per year, plus equity and benefits. Commonwealth Fusion Systems is working to deliver the transition to fusion energy by designing and building commercially viable fusion power plants. Reporting to the Director of Power Systems on the SPARC team, this engineer leads and coordinates electrical design projects and cross-functional interfaces. The work develops and validates power electronics systems for fusion power while ensuring design releases meet specifications, schedules, budgets, and project needs.

What you'll do

• Design, model, simulate, analyze, and validate power electronics circuits, magnetic components, and control strategies for medium-voltage converter systems
• define components and technical requirements
• develop test methods and qualify designs through testing and commissioning
• contribute to cross-functional electrical system design
• coordinate procurement contracts and vendors
• lead initial commissioning activities
• document specifications, simulations, and test results in engineering reports.
