Prep/Line Cook

The Prep/Line Cook role is onsite in Salt Lake City, UT. Pay is $16 per hour. Friends of Switchpoint is a nonprofit serving individuals, families, and veterans in Utah who are experiencing poverty and homelessness, with a mission to support self-sufficiency. The cook prepares ingredients and supports kitchen service so the team can provide food in a clean, organized, and safe environment. The role includes stocking stations, following recipes and instructions, maintaining food-safety practices, monitoring supplies, and assisting with cooking and plating.

What you'll do

• Set up and stock kitchen and prep stations
• prepare menu components by chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and making sauces
• follow recipes and instructions from the kitchen manager and head chef
• comply with health and safety regulations
• maintain clean prep areas and handle leftovers and waste properly
• monitor inventory and restock supplies
• assist with cooking and plating during service.
