Prevention Specialist

The position exists to apply public health principles and evidence-based strategies to prevent substance use. It helps assess community needs, deliver education and programming, build partnerships, and document and evaluate outcomes in support of healthier individuals, families, and communities.

What you'll do

• Assess community needs and capacities
• assist with strategic plans and prevention programs, practices, and policies
• evaluate program processes, outcomes, impact, and participant and partner satisfaction
• provide information and prevention education
• facilitate healthy alternative activities
• identify needs and make referrals
• collaborate with community organizations and coalitions
• promote environmental approaches
• complete documentation and reports
• maintain confidentiality and current prevention knowledge
• assist with agency events.
