Substance Abuse Counselor

Job overview

The Substance Abuse Counselor role is onsite in Westminster, CO; compensation is $31.25–$36.00 per hour plus performance bonus opportunities. The counselor supports patients in a Behavioral Health Group treatment program. The role exists to help patients use their strengths to pursue social, educational, and occupational goals and adjust to a drug-free life. It contributes through counseling, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and coordination with community providers.

What you'll do

• Conduct individual and group alcohol and drug counseling
• orient patients to program procedures
• assess social, educational, economic, and vocational information
• develop and revise treatment plans
• make referrals and follow up
• provide intake, readmission, and crisis intervention services
• and coordinate care with community providers.
