The Artificial Intelligence Librarian role is onsite in Montevallo, AL. Salary is $100,000–$120,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and advanced degrees. The position supports University Libraries’ Research Computing Services team and its research and learning services. The librarian develops and implements AI-enabled library workflows and services, provides AI and research-computing instruction and consultations, and supports student developers. The role also advances information literacy and research computing across campus through collaboration with library colleagues, faculty, students, and campus partners.

What you'll do

• Identify, develop, and implement AI solutions for library workflows and user services
• provide consultations, instruction, training, outreach, and support
• maintain AI and research-computing tutorials and documentation
• assist with oversight of student developers
• develop AI use cases for student projects
• serve as a subject-area liaison
• coordinate AI activities and literacy across University Libraries
• collaborate with campus and external partners
• pursue relevant grant opportunities as encouraged.
