Registered Nurse (RN), Primary Care Telephone Triage

What you'll do

• Answer phone calls and web messages for primary care practices
• triage symptomatic patients using written protocols and clinical judgment
• refer patients to the emergency department or urgent care, or provide home-care advice as appropriate
• schedule appointments
• refill prescriptions and provide test results according to protocol
• provide patient education under provider direction
• complete administrative tasks such as obtaining records, referrals, and forms.

Why this role

Part-time schedule of two days per week; options include Friday/Saturday, Saturday/Sunday, or Sunday/Monday. In-person training is expected to take 3–4 weeks depending on experience. Maine residence and active, unencumbered Maine RN or LPN licensure are required; primary care or hospital experience is required and triage experience is preferred.
