The Medical Assistant — Pediatrics role is onsite at two Henry Ford Health System locations: Bloomfield Hills, MI, and West Bloomfield, MI. The assignment is 13 weeks, Monday–Friday, with coverage needed four days per week; typical hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., or 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Compensation is not specified. The role supports Henry Ford Bloomfield Pediatrics and Henry Ford Farmington Road Pediatrics. The assistant supports pediatric ambulatory care by preparing patients and rooms, recording histories and vital signs, assisting with procedures, and documenting care in the electronic health record. The role also coordinates appointments and referrals, processes specimens, and performs clinical tests within scope and protocol.

What you'll do

• Screen and room patients
• obtain histories and vital signs
• prepare for and assist with examinations and treatments
• administer and document ordered medications and immunizations
• document care in the EHR
• respond to patient messages
• enter orders for provider sign-off
• collect and process specimens
• perform CLIA-waived tests, electrocardiography, and phlebotomy
• coordinate appointments, procedures, referrals, and authorizations
• maintain rooms and equipment.
