Job overview

The Direct Support Professional, Community Development & Residential Services role is onsite in Rockville, MD, with a Monday–Friday morning schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Pay is $17 per hour. Helpful Hearts Health Services supports people with developmental disabilities through community integration, skill development, and person-centered support. The role assists individuals with daily living, personal care, community participation, and personal goals. It contributes to independence and quality of life by implementing service plans, supporting safety and well-being, and coordinating with families and the care team.

What you'll do

  • Assist with hygiene and daily living activities
  • administer medications according to prescribed guidelines and agency policies
  • prepare meals and assist with feeding
  • perform light housekeeping
  • facilitate community activities
  • support communication, self-advocacy, and independent living skills
  • implement Individualized Service Plans
  • provide transportation as needed
  • monitor safety, dignity, rights, and well-being
  • maintain documentation and communicate with families and team members.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, one year of experience supporting people with developmental disabilities, current CPR/First Aid, Certified Medication Technician certification, Mandt Training, and DDA Training.
