Risk Management Specialist

Job overview

The Risk Management Specialist role is hybrid, with two days per week at the Lomita branch in Lomita, CA and three remote days; the schedule is to be determined. Compensation is $65,000–$70,000 per year. The specialist supports South Bay Credit Union’s Risk Management program and reports to its Director of Risk Management. The role helps the credit union manage risk and strengthen compliance by reviewing activity, preparing regulatory reports, assisting members with account matters, and coordinating with other departments on internal controls and risk awareness.

What you'll do

• Review daily reports for unusual activity, document findings, and escalate concerns
• communicate with members about account issues
• review and prepare Currency Transaction Reports and Suspicious Activity Reports
• process subpoenas and other legal documents
• assist specialized members with transactions, appointments, account maintenance, and inquiries
• receive loan and membership applications and conduct initial review or underwriting when applicable
• occasionally participate in specialized business development events.
