What you'll do

• Review menus and determine food quantities
• submit food orders to the Food and Nutrition Services Manager
• prepare meals on schedule
• deliver patient food carts to nursing stations and return carts
• consult the manager about leftovers and the registered dietitian about modified diets
• supervise food service workers preparing food
• measure and mix ingredients
• prepare soups, sauces, casseroles, desserts, and other menu items
• cook and portion meats, fish, and poultry
• test food for doneness and adjust cooking
• follow infection prevention practices
• maintain clean kitchen and trayline areas
• clean storage areas and dishes
• participate in quality improvement and maintain patient confidentiality.

Why this role
