Community Mentor (Direct Support Professional)

The Community Mentor (Direct Support Professional) role is onsite in Fair Haven, NJ, with pay of $17–$21 per hour. The schedule is Tuesday and Thursday, 2:30–6:30, with weekends flexible; driving during the shift is required. The role provides one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities. The mentor helps the individual build confidence, routines, social skills, community connections, and independence. Through coaching, companionship, safety support, and documentation, the role advances individualized goals and supports participation in community activities.

What you'll do

• Accompany the individual to clubs and activities
• coach daily living, communication, social, and independence skills
• help establish positive routines and work toward individualized goals
• model problem-solving, appropriate communication, and community participation
• support decision-making, self-advocacy, and confidence
• provide companionship and a consistent mentoring relationship
• maintain safety and follow individualized instructions
• complete required documentation and communicate with the Kindly team.
