The Developmental Editor role is onsite in Lake Mary, FL, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Compensation is $55,000–$60,000 per year. Charisma Media’s global mission is to inspire people to experience the power of the Holy Spirit and change their world. The editor performs substantive manuscript edits, manages assigned author projects through editing and production, and contributes to acquisitions. By resolving content issues, maintaining editorial quality, and helping manuscripts meet approved concepts and schedules, the role supports the publisher’s book development work.

What you'll do

• Perform substantive edits, including reviewing content flow and syntax, adjusting content as needed, and verifying statistics, scripture, quotations, and terminology. Assist with acquisitions, proposals, and conceptual outlines
• manage assigned authors and writing processes
• maintain author communication through printer handoff
• resolve content issues flagged by copy editors
• provide scheduling input
• participate in meetings
• maintain Book Group style and quality.

Why this role

Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related study and three years of book-editing experience required. Familiarity with book proposal evaluations, publishing contracts, Chicago Manual of Style, and charismatic/Pentecostal markets.
