Senior Java Application Developer – Remote

The Senior Java Application Developer is a remote role for the Division of Health & Human Services project; Utah residency is not required. Compensation is DOE and no numeric amount is specified. The project develops and maintains applications serving public users and internal staff. The developer designs, builds, tests, and enhances Java applications and web services, including replacing legacy applications. The role also supports secure authentication, PostgreSQL data access, cloud delivery practices, and agency data security requirements while collaborating with developers, engineers, and subject matter experts.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and test Java applications and web services
• build new applications and replace legacy systems with project collaborators
• update existing Java web applications
• use Java web frameworks, with EJB and JSF preferred
• implement authentication using standards such as OAuth2 or OpenAM
• write and maintain PostgreSQL SQL and PL/pgSQL
• work toward CI/CD pipelines in AWS
• meet agency data security standards and apply approved encryption techniques
• analyze user requirements and implement application features
• work independently and communicate clearly in a remote environment.

Why this role
