Avionics Engineering Lead

The Avionics Engineering Lead role is onsite in Saratoga, CA. The target base pay is $150,000–$220,000 per year. The role reports to the Director of Electrical Engineering and leads engineers on E-Space’s Avionics team, developing, testing, and delivering satellite electronics and FPGA firmware. The lead coordinates engineering execution and supports technical work to deliver high-quality products that meet requirements. The role also develops team capability and helps advance E-Space’s low Earth orbit satellite system and space-based communications mission.

What you'll do

• Lead day-to-day engineering work for eight or more Electrical and FPGA engineers through product development, testing, and delivery
• plan and track engineering tasks and communicate team status
• ensure the team follows and improves Avionics standards and practices
• provide tools and resources
• participate in design reviews, troubleshooting, and surge engineering when needed
• support teammates’ skill and career development
• conduct performance evaluations and regular one-on-ones.
