Activity Assistant

The Activity Assistant role is onsite in Burlington, VT. Compensation is $17–$19 per hour. The role supports residents at Birchwood Terrace Rehabilitation and HealthCare through individualized activities, group programs, and facility events. The assistant helps plan and deliver person-centered programming that promotes socialization, stimulation, comfort, and quality of life. Working with the Activity Director and care team, the role encourages resident participation and communicates relevant observations to support resident-centered care.

What you'll do

• Assist the Activity Director with daily and monthly activity programming
• lead and participate in individual, small-group, and large-group activities
• tailor activities to residents’ interests, abilities, preferences, and needs
• use music, art, pet therapy, games, exercise, reminiscence, and other recreational programs
• encourage participation, socialization, independence, comfort, and quality of life
• help prepare facility decorations and special events
• maintain activity and attendance records
• organize supplies and equipment
• communicate resident participation and observations to the Activity Director and care team
• protect resident privacy.
