The Staff Attorney, Housing Law role is hybrid in New York, NY, with two remote days depending on court appearances and a Monday–Friday schedule from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Pay is $55–$61 per hour. The attorney joins a housing law team providing legal services to low-income individuals, families, and tenant groups. The attorney represents tenants in housing matters from intake through resolution and works with community organizations and tenant groups on education and advocacy. The work supports tenant rights and efforts to preserve affordable housing.

What you'll do

• Represent tenants and tenant groups in housing litigation, including nonpayment proceedings, holdover cases, repairs and conditions matters, and appeals
• advocate before administrative agencies
• manage cases from intake through resolution
• advise tenants and community organizations
• conduct legal research and prepare legal documents
• provide rights presentations, clinics, and workshops
• collaborate with tenant organizers
• support potential impact litigation and affordable-housing initiatives.
