Teacher Aide

The Teacher Aide role is onsite at the House of Representatives Childcare Center on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Compensation is not specified. The role provides active supervision, assists with care and classroom routines, supports curriculum and documentation, and helps children and families through transitions.

What you'll do

• Provide active supervision and maintain child-to-staff ratios
• assist with diapering or toileting, feeding, and comforting
• monitor health and safety and respond to illness, injury, and emergencies
• participate in curriculum and assessment planning and documentation
• support positive classroom environments and behavior management
• maintain classroom records and logs
• support transitions for children and families
• maintain classroom organization and supplies
• attend professional development.
