Heavy Duty Mechanic (Budget Truck) in Hazelwood, MO. This is an onsite, full-time position with an hourly pay of $26.00. Avis Budget Group supports Budget Truck operations. As an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech), you will perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer moving vans and box trucks across multiple brands with minimal technical supervision. Your work helps ensure trucks are safe, reliable, and available—directly supporting customer businesses and a smooth rental experience.

What you'll do

• Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer moving vans and box trucks across multiple brands with minimal technical supervision.
• Responsibilities include oil and fluid services, lubrication, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, and warranty-related repairs based on experience level.
• Assist senior technicians with more complex diagnostics and repair procedures.
• Drive a Budget Truck on public roads for testing, repair verification, or operational support as needed.

What we're looking for

Education

High school diploma/GED

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience. At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year. Working knowledge of ASE certification areas including, but not limited to: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel. Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive repair and maintenance. Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance.
