The ICU/CCU Veterinary Technician (Shift Lead) role is onsite in Santa Cruz, CA, with a stated pay range of $23–$28. Pacific & Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists is a 24/7 emergency and specialty veterinary hospital providing care for critically ill pets. The technician monitors hospitalized patients, administers medications and treatments, supports anesthesia recovery, and assists with diagnostics and procedures. The role works with doctors and specialty teams to carry out treatment plans and maintain continuity of care throughout hospitalization.

What you'll do

• Monitor and care for critically ill and hospitalized patients
• administer medications, treatments, and nursing care
• monitor anesthesia recovery and post-operative patients
• assist with blood draws, catheter placement, diagnostics, and treatments
• collaborate with doctors and specialty services
• advocate for patients and communicate to support continuity of care.

Why this role

The schedule is Wednesday–Saturday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; at least one weekend shift per week and some holidays are required. A fourth shift in another department may be added if requested.
