What you'll do

• Read menus to estimate food requirements and obtain ingredients from suppliers or storage
• regulate cooking equipment
• measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
• bake, roast, broil, and steam foods
• season and check food for doneness
• portion and plate orders
• store unused food and label perishables according to food safety standards.
