Project Engineer, Underground Utilities

Job overview

The Project Engineer role is onsite in Milpitas, CA, with some travel within the Bay Area. Pay is $75,000–$90,000 per year. Preston Pipelines delivers underground utility installations for civil construction projects. The engineer supports project execution by coordinating plans, budgets, materials, subcontractors, schedules, field documentation, and closeout. This work helps project teams complete underground utility projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.

What you'll do

• Review plans, specifications, soils reports, estimates, and budgets
• perform material takeoffs and verify quantities
• coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, deliveries, and project documentation
• assist with plans, submittals, schedules, and meetings
• analyze production reports and track extra work
• review timecards
• maintain as-builts and project records
• coordinate closeout documents.
