The Commercial Refrigeration Installation Technician role is onsite in El Paso, TX, supporting commercial refrigeration construction projects in and around the area. Compensation is not specified. TAG provides HVACR service, maintenance, and installation services across North America. The role exists to install, replace, and start up commercial refrigeration systems safely and in line with project specifications, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements. The technician supports new construction, remodels, conversions, and equipment upgrades at commercial and industrial facilities.

What you'll do

• Install commercial refrigeration equipment, including rack systems, condensing units, evaporators, walk-in coolers and freezers, and display cases
• assist with rigging and securing equipment
• install refrigeration piping
• braze, pressure test, evacuate, and prepare systems for charging and startup
• assist with refrigerant charging, leak detection, and commissioning in accordance with EPA guidelines
• interpret blueprints and piping diagrams
• install controls, sensors, and valves
• coordinate with project managers, foremen, subcontractors, and other trades
• communicate material needs and project issues
• maintain safe, clean, organized job sites and tools.

Why this role

Overtime, after-hours, overnight, and travel work may be required. Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of commercial refrigeration installation experience and EPA Section 608 Certification.
