Weekend Residential Counselor

The Weekend Residential Counselor is an onsite, part-time role in East Islip, NY, paying $20–$24 per hour. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM–9:00 PM, every other weekend. Options for Community Living supports people with mental health diagnoses and other vulnerable community members. The counselor provides residential support that helps residents develop daily living skills and pursue individual service-plan objectives. The role also supports medication self-management, case management, transportation, and a safe, well-maintained residence.

What you'll do

• Participate in planning and evaluating individual service plans and monitor objectives
• write weekly progress notes
• train and assist residents with daily living activities and household maintenance
• oversee medication maintenance and support self-medication skills as needed
• provide case management and follow-up
• transport residents as needed
• conduct household maintenance checks and repairs and fire drills as needed
• notify program supervisors or managers of medical or psychiatric emergencies.
