The Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health – Day Shift role is onsite in Belle Mead, NJ, in the Inpatient Behavioral Health department. The schedule is three 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM, for 36 hours per week; pay is $2,340–$2,400 per week. The nurse supports inpatient behavioral health care for adolescent, adult, and older adult patients. The RN provides safe, patient-centered nursing care through assessment, individualized care planning, medication administration, monitoring, and behavioral health interventions. The role contributes to a safe therapeutic environment and coordinated treatment by working with the multidisciplinary team and responding to behavioral health crises.

What you'll do

• Provide nursing care to adolescent, adult, and older adult behavioral health patients
• assess patients and develop individualized care plans
• administer prescribed medications and treatments
• monitor physical, emotional, and behavioral conditions
• maintain a safe therapeutic environment
• respond to behavioral health crises
• follow suicide-prevention and seclusion/restraint safety protocols
• document care in EPIC
• collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
• educate and support patients and families
• participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary meetings
• float to similar behavioral health units within the facility as needed.

Why this role

Requires an associate degree in nursing, at least three years of nursing experience, inpatient behavioral health experience, a current New Jersey or valid compact RN license, and current American Heart Association BLS certification. A BSN is preferred. Holiday and on-call duties are listed as none; floating to similar facility units is required.
