Distribution Underground Equipment Operator

Job overview

The Distribution Underground Equipment Operator works onsite in La Grange, North Carolina. The schedule is four 10-hour days per week. Compensation is not specified. River City Construction’s Operations team builds, repairs, and maintains underground electrical distribution systems that support the power grid. The operator assists line workers and operates equipment on underground construction, maintenance, and repair work. The role contributes to safe project execution by following excavation, shoring, grounding, and personal protective equipment practices and maintaining vehicles, tools, and equipment.

What you'll do

• Operate a mini excavator and vehicles professionally
• assist line workers with project objectives
• perform new construction, maintenance, and repair work on energized and de-energized underground systems
• inspect protective equipment
• maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools
• follow excavation and shoring requirements
• work outdoors in varied weather
• and participate in storm restoration efforts when needed.
