Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Telecommunications Engineer

The Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Telecommunications Engineer role is initially offsite until approximately January 2027, then onsite for the project period in Chicago, IL. Compensation is not specified. The role supports the VA Milwaukee Electronic Health Record Modernization Infrastructure Upgrade project. The engineer provides telecommunications infrastructure expertise and construction oversight to help ensure systems are installed, inspected, tested, documented, and ready for commissioning and Government acceptance. The work coordinates telecommunications requirements with construction and technical stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Assess Telecommunications Rooms and review layouts, cabling, pathways, grounding, power, cooling, and security interfaces
• inspect installations and track deficiencies
• oversee fiber and structured cabling installation and testing
• review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and as-builts
• coordinate with project stakeholders
• maintain inspection records and support commissioning, turnover, and acceptance.
