The Lead Electrical Design Engineer role is onsite in Dayton, OH. Compensation is $125,000–$175,000 per year, with a competitive base salary and bonus noted. Kintara is recruiting for a growing manufacturer of custom switchgear and electrical power distribution solutions serving industrial, utility, and commercial customers. The engineer leads custom electrical design from customer specifications through manufacturing release, ensuring designs meet applicable standards and project requirements. The role also supports manufacturing, testing, troubleshooting, and field startup while mentoring developing engineers and improving engineering practices.

What you'll do

• Lead electrical design for custom low- and medium-voltage switchgear
• develop single-line, three-line, control, and wiring diagrams
• translate customer specifications into manufacturing documentation
• configure protective relays and control systems
• perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies
• review designs for accuracy and standards compliance
• collaborate with engineering, production, and project teams
• support manufacturing, testing, troubleshooting, and field startup
• mentor junior engineers.
