Manager of Surgical Services

Job overview

The Manager of Surgical Services role is onsite in Fredericksburg, VA. Compensation is $100,000–$150,000 per year. The position leads surgical services at a community hospital with more than 130 beds and a range of inpatient and outpatient services. The manager has 24-hour accountability for the operating room and central sterile reprocessing, directing daily operations and a team of approximately 15 employees across four operating rooms. The role supports high-quality patient care through staffing, surgical flow, resource management, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance.

What you'll do

• Supervise, coordinate, and direct operating-room and central sterile reprocessing activities
• manage surgical schedules, staffing, productivity, and premium labor use
• allocate staff, equipment, and supplies to support surgical flow
• oversee monthly staff scheduling
• manage supplies and process improvement
• analyze and report perioperative service-line data
• participate in performance improvement
• ensure regulatory compliance and risk-management practices.
