Phlebotomist

The Phlebotomist role is onsite in Huntsville, TX; compensation is not specified. The position works under the general supervision of the Administrative Director of Laboratory and supports the hospital laboratory’s specimen services. The role exists to collect, receive, and distribute specimens accurately and promptly, supporting laboratory testing and patient care across the populations served by the hospital.

What you'll do

• Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks
• restock supplies, take temperatures, and centrifuge specimens
• verify patient identity using two identifiers and resolve discrepancies before collection
• label specimens in the patient’s presence
• organize collection, transport, receipt, and distribution of specimens
• collect chain-of-custody drug screens
• enter test orders
• maintain a clean work area
• follow infection-prevention, confidentiality, compliance, and safety requirements.
