What you'll do

• Gather children and pedestrians behind curb lines, interrupt traffic when safe, escort pedestrians across streets, and instruct children in safe crossing procedures.
• Observe vehicle movements, record license numbers when safety permits, report unsafe driving to the Police Department, and notify school officials about students who do not follow crossing procedures.
• The role requires a serious commitment to assigned school-day posts before and after school.
