What you'll do

• Report to the superintendent for the morning schedule
• assess priorities and assign crew tasks
• ensure workers have tools and equipment
• oversee work against project plans
• give clear directions and enforce company rules
• supervise small crews on road, highway, bridge, and civil infrastructure projects
• direct subcontractors and maintain material inventory when the superintendent is absent
• ensure equipment is safe and ready and report damage
• operate equipment such as dozers, excavators, and motor graders
• use levels and lasers to establish grade
• read engineering plans and blueprints.
