What you'll do

• Assess patient and family needs
• verify patient identity, procedure, site, consents, allergies, and preoperative information
• develop and communicate care plans
• provide patient and family education
• administer medications and maintain IV access
• apply aseptic technique
• act as scrub or circulating nurse
• support safe patient transfer
• perform required counts
• prepare surgical sites and label specimens
• document care accurately.
