Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN at St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Round Rock, TX. This is an onsite position. St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a 360+ bed multi-specialty hospital. This role produces diagnostic images using radioisotopes to assist in the diagnosis or treatment of disease. The technologist adheres to strict standards for imaging, dosage, and radiation protection, ensuring patient safety and optimal diagnostic quality.
What you'll do
- Produces images in accordance with ARRT and NMTCB standards.
- Performs within guidelines set by the Bureau of Radiation Control and Hospital Policies.
- Ensures compliance with radioactive materials license.
- Provides services using radioisotopes.
- Demonstrates knowledge of human structure, functions, patient care, positioning, principles of nuclear medicine, radiation protection, and specialized techniques.
- Exercises professional judgment.
- Participates in providing patient specific care standards.
- Consistently produces scans of optimal diagnostic quality.
- Operates Nuclear Medicine cameras and related equipment.
- Completes scans in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates proficiency in scanning challenging patients.
- Possesses knowledge of disease processes.
- Performs radioactive therapy procedures.
- Employs techniques to minimize radiation exposure (ALARA).
- Explains procedures to patients.
- Maintains patient safety, privacy, and dignity.

- Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by JRCERT or AMA approved program.
