Remote Bankruptcy Attorney

The attorney handles Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters, providing legal advice, preparing and reviewing filings, representing clients in meetings and hearings, and coordinating with support staff. The position contributes substantive legal work and client advocacy within a technology-driven practice.

What you'll do

• Conduct client consultations and bankruptcy intakes
• advise on Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and related matters
• review petitions and filing documents with clients
• prepare clients for and represent debtors at §341 meetings
• appear in bankruptcy court throughout Virginia as needed
• draft and review pleadings
• address plan, claims, stay, dismissal, and discharge issues
• direct paralegals and legal assistants when attorney involvement is required
• communicate with clients, trustees, creditors, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• use technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools.

Why this role

Requires an active Virginia Bar license in good standing and 1+ year of hands-on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 experience. Admission to the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia is preferred or must be obtainable; Chapter 11/Subchapter V experience is a plus, not required.
