Electrical Project Engineer

The Electrical Project Engineer role is an onsite, full-time contract-to-hire position in West Chicago, IL, paying $45–$55 per hour. The engineer supports an industrial automation client from project concept through startup. The role designs and supports industrial control systems, coordinating with engineering, production, purchasing, quality, customers, and vendors to deliver automation projects.

What you'll do

• Prepare project quotations and written proposals
• create electrical schematics and panel layouts in AutoCAD Electrical
• generate and maintain bills of materials
• program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, motor drives, and servo systems
• support panel design, fabrication, and testing
• coordinate material and production issues
• review project documentation
• support field startup and commissioning, including occasional electrical installation and wiring.
