Part-Time Science Tutor

What you'll do

• Meet students at the school during Achievement Center hours for weekly scheduled sessions. Encourage systematic approaches to studying science
• support topics needing instruction or further exploration
• review recent assignments and work through problems requiring reteaching
• use study strategies or manipulatives to prepare students for tests and quizzes
• communicate with students, parents, and faculty, including progress reports
• and attend training sessions and meetings when necessary.

Why this role

Requires at least three years of tutoring and/or teaching experience with high school science courses. AP Science tutoring or teaching experience is preferred. Achievement Center hours are Monday–Thursday, 7:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:45 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
